Next Seeds Series Begins Tomorrow
We’ve walked through 3 books of the Bible in Seeds of Faith thus far: Paul’s Letter to the Colossians, the Gospel of Matthew, and the First Letter of Peter.
Our next series will survey prayer passages of the Bible. We will organize our daily readings and reflection around the acronym P.R.A.Y., which stands for Praise, Repent, Ask, Yield. Alternately, it can stand for Pause, Reflect, Ask, Yield. Either of these is useful in its own way.
Each day, we will take one of those words and look at a scripture passage that may be associated with it. In so doing, we will (1) consider passages that illustrate and illuminate these activities of prayer in order to expand our understanding and deepen our practice, and (2) fill our minds with scriptures that may guide us so that when we struggle to find our own words and experiences, we may pray alongside the scriptures, or even with them.
I look forward to exploring prayers of the Bible together. See you tomorrow.
“But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” (Matthew 13:23)
